h. 00.02.15This video was made in the Elven Forest region in Second Life, with the permission of the sim owners and the help of those represented by the avatars in the list below. Avatar names appear in the order of their presentation in the video: Gigi (dztinhinan) Nacile Irime (campanatas2006) Fey Lamar Seth Harlan Mnemosyne Nightfire Crea (creabuun) Seth Harlan (as gnome) I am Free (libbberamente) Fantasy Escape Feyish Resident Miss Salina Warwick (misssalina) Cass (casseoppia) Arenae Rosewood Production Notes: The music came first, and it started as a harp fingering exercise with descending triads, starting with A minor. The triads were then modified to include the 6th or 7th on the root. A melody was laid on top of this progression with mandolin, and a response with a Gretsch guitar. The resulting soundtrack had a medieval/ fantasy “feel” to it, so I consulted with the owners of the Elven Forest region in Second life and obtained video samples of scenery and animations with the avatars. My appreciation goes to all those who took the time to be involved in this project. Music composed and performed by Bob Foster (aka Rob Fossett in Second Life).

FIRST EXHIBIT
deep in the night
My idea is that a person, to a certain
age, still has to go out, dive into people, go to listen to music, go from one place to another, etc.
He’s just a little weak, tired, maybe it is
cold, the partner is looking at something
on TV... maybe the evening wouldn’t be worth the expense.
and then it goes to the computer, opens Second Life and GO OUT.
LIFE
wanders from place to place
He knows people, he laughs, he jokes, he’s late.
Maybe he dresses up and goes somewhere
serious to listen to a pianist or to watch
a ballet or even to participate in a
classic evening in a period palace with
ladies in crinoline.
DURING the fortieth for the
COVID, in Italy, there were Djs who
put on the balcony with the amplifiers
to make people dance, to fight
sadness, the prison effect.

organized evenings accessible via video or
directly into the virtual world.
